Project story
Azania Media City is conceived as a new piece of creative infrastructure for Africa — bringing film, television, music, digital production, live entertainment and supporting industries together within a single integrated campus.
The masterplan combines large-scale sound stages, production facilities, backlots, post-production and digital infrastructure with performance venues, hospitality, retail and public space. Rather than operating as an isolated studio complex, the project is structured as a working creative city where production, technology, entertainment and public life can exist alongside one another.
Different precincts respond to the specific technical requirements of production while forming part of a larger architectural and urban framework capable of evolving as the industry changes.
At its core, Azania is about infrastructure: creating a place from which African stories can be produced at an international scale, while building a platform that can be used by the global creative industry.
